NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of NHS England and NHS Improvement East of England would like to inform potential bidders of a market engagement event to be held on 12 August 2019 at the City Care Centre, Thorpe Road, Peterborough PE3 6DB for the procurement of APMS Services for St Neots Health Centre and Maple Surgery.
The subsequent procurement that will take place late August 2019 for St Neots Health Centre, 24 Moore's Walk, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, PE19 1AG and Maple Surgery, Hanover Close, Bar Hill, Cambridge CB23 8EH. The Services delivered from St Neots Health Centre & Maple Surgery are General Medical Services to registered patients from the St Neots and Cambridgeshire area. St Neots Health Centre also has a Walk in Centre (WIC) which will be included in this procurement. It is the Commissioners' intention to appoint one Service Provider to deliver both the General Medical Services (GMS) element of the service and the urgent care element delivered via the walk-in centre. Both elements of the service must be delivered by the one Provider, although there will be separate contracts for each.
NHS England has delegated its commissioning authority to NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG, and as a result under delegated functions NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG will act on behalf of NHS England & NHS Improvement - East of England.
the St Neots and Bar Hill, the surrounding area of Cambridgeshire and ensures a continuity of service provision during a period of service review and strategic intent to implement the GP Forward View and NHS Long Term Plan Scope of services.
St Neots is a town in the southern part of Cambridgeshire, within the district of Huntingdonshire, next to the Bedfordshire county border and has a growing population due to the large amount of housing development within and on the outskirts of the town boundary. St Neots Health Centre is located within the town centre, close to retail outlets and public car parks and currently has a weighted list size of 5040.1 and 6482 actual list size as of 1 July 2019. St Neots Health Centre is encompassed with a Walk-in element, which is funded over and above the contract value price for the health centre, this is capped at 33 appointments per day at a rate of £16.50 per patient.
Maple Surgery incorporates the villages of Bar Hill, Dry Drayton, Longstanton, Boxworth, Swavsey, Girton, Willingham, Oakington and Over. Maple Surgery has a weighted list size of 3333.45 patients and 3647 actual list size as of 1 July 2019. The contracts for both services are due to commence on 1 April 2020. TUPE may be applicable to the contracts.

Additional information: The Commissioners are seeking to engage with the market to find out the views of potential providers on various aspects of how the service should best be configured and organised. Potential providers are invited to provide their views and comments on the aspects of the service as outlined in the questionnaire. The service specification is attached for providers to provide comments on, please do this in the questionnaire, question 1.22.
The Commissioners are inviting potential providers to have a one to one session with the Commissioning Team. The objective of the one to one session is to gather information that will be useful to understand any provider issues and concerns, and any issues that would stop a potential provider from tendering for the opportunity. The one to one session will be held on 12 August 2019 at the City Care Centre, Thorpe Road, Peterborough PE3 6DB. Sessions will be begin at 10:30am. The appointments will last approximately 40 mins per provider.
