Ofwat is a small non ministerial Government department (circa 160 employees) based at Ofwat Birmingham and London office. The procurement team is a part of the Portfolio Office which is based in Birmingham. The Portfolio Office incumbencies disciples from Corporate Programme Management, Finance and Procurement. The three disciples work closely together to deliver strategic support and services across eight programmes.

Ofwat is undertaking business transformation project and as part of that project we have recently move to hot desking, collaborative meeting spaces and flexible work environment.

We forecast a peak in workload and support to deliver a number of procurements. We are there for seeking temporary additional resource to support the delivery of the procurements.

We are looking for Interim Procurement Adviser with a good level experience of undertaking Professional services including consultancy procurement, IT goods and services and general goods and services procurement. It is essential that the candidate has good understanding of the Treaty of Rome principles and EU procurement directives, the use of framework agreement and an understanding of terms and conditions. It would be an advantage the candidate has an understanding of central Government agendas i.e. Cabinet Office Controls, Transparency, SME etc.

We require an individual with the experience, knowledge and insight to make an immediate and significant contribution to our programme of procurements.

JOB PURPOSE

  1. To deliver effectively and efficiently a range of procurement contracts which deliver value for money.
  1. To ensure the procurement path from requirement and sourcing to tender and award is managed with full involvement of relevant parties.
  1. To ensure financial and legal requirements for procurements are fully met.
  1. To ensure the required contractual and confidentiality requirements of the office are met fully.
