Highways England is looking for a suitable contractor that will be required to provide all routine and cyclic maintenance, incident response, defect rectification (when instructed by Highways England) and severe weather delivery on the all-purpose trunk roads and motorways within Highways England South-East Region (Area 4) in accordance to Highways England standards and objectives. Additional duties will also include the ongoing maintenance of two tunnels (A20 Roundhill & A27 Southwick), maintenance of roadside technology, the provision of traffic management for the contractor's maintenance and response activities (including traffic management) during incidents and where instructed by Highways England and the maintenance of depots. Under the CDM Regulations 2015 the contractor will be Principal Contractor for all work they undertake unless instructed otherwise by the Service Manager. Highways England may consider amending the duties listed above and may remove or amend these as appropriate during the contract period.
The Service Period for the maintenance and response contract is for a duration of 8 years, and the successful provider will be expected to operate collaboratively with other service providers and stakeholders in order to achieve Highways England's objectives.
Highways England will be arranging a tour of Area 4 depots, scheduled for 19th February (an all-day
event); Expressions of interest are invited (spaces will be limited to 2 attendees per tenderer). Please note
that all attendees to the depot tour will need to provide their own full PPE (Hard hat, Hi Vis Vest, High Vis Trousers, Safety Boots, Safety Glasses and Gloves). Interested tenderers are requested to email providing full names and contact details to Area4AssetDeliveryProcurement@highwaysengland.co.uk no later than 14 February 2020. Following confirmation of attendees, an itinerary for the depot tour will then be issued.
The Contracting Authority intends to use an e-Tendering system for this procurement exercise. Suppliers are required to register their details on BRAVO to participate in this tender exercise and in order to access the tender documents which are available free of charge.
