Spain's Visiting Teachers Programme Service B, Acclimatisation and Retention Stage - Acclimatisation and Retention stage Specifics to key deliverables:
Phase 1 - pre-arrival support
| • | Further develop and refine existing training materials. |
| • | Further develop and share a handbook to help prepare/support teachers. |
| • | Pre-arrival communications, including building an online community. |
| • | Develop a suite of training materials to include online learning and webinars. |
| • | Develop and deliver mentor training. |
Phase 2 - on-arrival support
| • | Provide a national residential acclimatisation event in August 2019 and January 2020 (if required). |
| • | Provide support to teachers upon arrival e.g. transportation to the venue of the residential event. |
| • | Ensure a further catch-up event is provided for any candidates who were unable to attend the residential event. |
Phase 3 - ongoing support
| • | Provide a minimum of one day per term CPD events for recruited teachers. |
| • | Mentor training events (please refer to Annex 3 - National Standards for school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) mentors handbook). |
| • | Ensure recruited schools are adhering to their agreed Service Level Agreements - regularly engage with schools and ensure the support the schools provide is sufficient. |
| • | Provide telephone mentoring for further support to teachers. |
Phase 4 - evaluation of services
| • | Provide evidence to support evaluation of the programme. |
| • | On-going evaluation of service delivery throughout via termly surveys. |
