Invitation to Quote for the Provision of Fencing at Major Festivals 2015 2017 inclusive

The Council seeks quotes for the provision of fencing for its two major festivals, The Wheels Festival and Bournemouth Air Festival on a 3 year contract to include the installation and removal of all fencing and the management of fencing during the event throughout the site.

Wheels Festival

The Wheels Festival is a free 3 day event which takes place annually in May. The dates for 2015 are 29th 31st May with the dates for future years to be confirmed. 500,000 people attended across the 3 days in its inaugural year in 2014.

The event site stretches across 1.5 miles of sandy beach and promenade with a secondary level on the East Overcliff. Along with trading, catering and funfair concessions ground content includes high speed F1 racing, historic racing cars, monster truck shows and FMX and BMX stunts across a number of arenas.

Bournemouth Air Festival

The free 4 day festival takes place annually in August attracting numbers in excess of 1.3 million each year. The dates for 2015 is 20th 23rd August with dates for future years to be confirmed.

The event site centre is across the seafront on two levels each covering a distance of 1.5 miles, with a large amount of trading concessions. The event also has a hospitality area and beach assault arena. Flying takes place on the afternoon of everyday ranging from 2 4 hours in length and across 3 evenings for dusk displays.

Evening content consists of a fenced ticketed stage area which is protected by dense fire retardant scrim for a host of acts such as Rizzle Kicks, The Feeling and Blue along with family entertainment and fireworks displays.
