description
The London Borough of Brent (the Council) is seeking to procure a suitably experienced architecturally-led, multidisciplinary design team to design an ambitious mixed development on an existing residential and commercial redevelopment site in South Kilburn, NW6, in consultation with relevant stakeholders. The scheme, which is part of the Councils South Kilburn Regeneration Programme (htt p://brent.gov.uk/regeneration/south-kilburn-regeneration-programme) and is 1.4 hectares in area, involves the comprehensive redevelopment of the Council owned site at Peel Precinct, 8 to 14 Neville Road and 97 to 112 Carlton House, NW6 to deliver a Health Centre for South Kilburn as part of a high quality mixed use development with approximately 235 residential dwellings.
The South Kilburn Regeneration Programme proposes to demolish many of the existing tower blocks and to replace them with 2,400 high quality new homes with generous space standards, of which approximately 1,200 will be social rented and made available to existing secure Council tenants living within the South Kilburn Regeneration Programme area. Good design is critical; the Council aims to deliver exemplar, award winning high quality developments. By securing planning permission, the Council has taken and will continue to take control of the design process to ensure this high expectation is realised.
The Council is seeking to procure a suitably experienced architecturally-led design team to undertake detailed design for the purpose of obtaining planning permission for high quality sustainable residential buildings and a Health Centre for South Kilburn. The successful architectural practice will lead their design team and develop the design through rigorous testing and planning requirements. The successful team will also develop a detailed design and specification to facilitate the procurement of a developer partner, in order to embed design quality for construction. The successful team will also lead the consultation with relevant stakeholders to deliver an innovative design solution and an outstanding scheme of the highest quality.
This tender is being conducted via the Restricted Procedure, incorporating a Pre-Qualification stage, from which a shortlist of between five (5) and up to seven (7) suppliers will be Invited to Tender.
