Brent Independent reviewing service for Looked after Children ( LAC)

Brent Council is looking for suitably qualified companies/organisations to deliver Independent Review Services on behalf of the Council for a period of two years with the option to extend for an additional 12 months. Interested parties should download the Invitation to Tender documents from the London Tenders Portal and return the ITT including the PQQ by no later than 12 noon on Wednesday January 7th 2015.

Brents Independent Reviewing Officer team (IRO) for Looked After Children is part of Brent Safeguarding and Quality Assurance service. The main function of the team is to chair looked after children Reviews, quality assure the care planning and review process, monitor the local authorities performance as corporate parent, and ensure that the childs wishes and feelings are fully considered.

The service will also liaise with children guardians appointed by the court , support other practitioners and families, where appropriate, in ensuring that decisions from Looked after children reviews are followed and tracked and where necessary, escalate matters to senior management following the Boroughs escalation procedure . The earlier the Care plan is finalized taking on board the views of all stake holders the greater the likelihood of securing permanency and positive outcome for looked after children.
