Somerset County Council is in a system of change for their Learning Disability Provider Service (LDPS) with the intention of delivering the service through a Social Enterprise partnership which is expected to be completed by 31/03/2016 at the latest. This will include activities such as engaging with customers with learning disabilities in developing outcomes based service specifications and in developing the design and governance of the organisation that is created.
Somerset County Council is setting up a temporary structure (project) to support the LDPS in delivering the organisational transition leading up to the selection of a partner to co-deliver the social enterprise partnership. This work will complete around September 2015. The project is driven by the Learning Disabilities Programme Board in response to an external viability assessment.
Spin-Out Expertise for the Learning Disability Provider Service (LDPS) to prepare the organisation for operating in a commercial way and to support the LDPS in delivering the organisational transition.
