The Provision of a Dynamic Purchasing System for Older Persons Dual Registered Residential and Nursing Care and Nursing Care only
This opportunity will be open to Contractors of either:
Lot 1 Registered Residential Nursing Homes.
or
Lot 2Dual Registered Residential Homes those providing both residential and nursing care
Kent County Council (the Council) is the largest local authority in England covering an area of over 3,500 square kilometres. It has an annual expenditure of over 1bn for goods and services and a population of 1.48m. The Council provides a wide range of services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district councils, 289 parish/town Councils and the NHS.
The Council is embarking on a journey to transform adult social care in Kent. (http://www.kent.gov.uk/adult_social_services/transforming_adult_ social _care.aspx). Focusing on:
Prevention and Targeted interventions.
Ensuring that services respond rapidly and are more effective.
Supporting Carers.
Empowering individuals to do more for themselves.
The Service shall deliver a 24 hour, 365 days (366 each leap year) Residential and /or Nursing Care environment for older people, usually over the age of 65(sixty Five), which will be dependent on their individual needs.
The fundamental outcome from the service will be to: To nurse and care for older persons. The outputs to be achieved by the service are:
A positive experience from the nursing care and living environment.
Improving Health and Wellbeing.
An ongoing high quality of life.
A maintained independence and reduced need for Care and Support.
Personal Dignity
Choice and control.
Safe environment.
Freedom from Discrimination and Harassment.
The Council are inviting Expressions of Interest from CQC registered providers for the provision of Older People Residential Care with Nursing and Nursing Care Only.

Process:
The DPS contract opportunity will be open until the 28/10/2015. It is envisaged that a new contract opportunity will be let to commence from the 01/04/2016.
This will be a two stage process:
Stage 1 The Expression of Interest and Tender stage.
