UWTSD are in the process of leasing additional space at Quay Place, Birmingham which will supplement their existing facilities on the same site. The areas being taken are on Ground, First and Second Floors of Vincent House, and Third Floor of Albert House. The spaces will be used for additional teaching classrooms, meeting rooms, offices and breakout spaces. It is proposed that the design will follow the look and feel of the other areas already being used by UWTSD.The works will include strip out and/or modification of existing services (level to be determined), alterations and fit out of existing internal layout and the direct fit out works for UWTSD of AV and furniture. For the latter, the contractor will be expected to co-ordinate and facilitate the UWTSD direct contractors so that the overall project can be completed as whole. There will be some modifications to the external envelope such as replacement of some windows and adding in louvres to the external walls.It is proposed that UWTSD will provide a RIBA 3 level of design information with some level of RIBA 4 technical information provided to assist in the development of the technical design ahead of a main contractor being appointed.
