The output Bòrd na Gàidhlig seeks is:
- a sustainable public system for identifying and recording natural changes in the grammar of Gaelic,
- a sustainable public system for coordinating and recording popular developments in Gaelic orthography,
- agreement between the community, the academics and the professionals on the minimum general standards for grammar and orthography in the presentation and teaching of Gaelic.
