description

HSE require a 1" cryogenic control valve for an experimental programme. The valve must be suitable for liquid hydrogen service (down to 20 K) and have continuous analog control between 0 - 100% open. The valve should be controlled electrically and be rated for ATEX Zone 1.

The valve should be vacuum insulated and use bayonet connections (male to female AS Scientific bayonets). The valve should have a maximum allowable working pressure of 22 barg.

Nominal process conditions:

Hydrogen, 20 - 30 K, 0 - 0.5 kg/s, 0 -12 barg

The equipment is required for use at the HSE Buxton (SK17 9JN) test site.

HSE is seeking to understand the design of potential solutions and the associated costs of manufacturing this equipment.
