description
Perth and Kinross Council are exploring the potential opportunity to provide a specialised learning disability/autism social care and housing support service to those identified as requiring support within the Crieff area of Perth and Kinross. The project would seek to maximise a person’s independent living skills, develop their confidence and ability to become active citizens in their community and support them to fulfil their own aspirations and outcomes. The Provider would provide a care and housing support service specialising in social and emotional support and direct practical assistance to enable the people to live as independently as possible in their own home and to maximise quality of life. Services would be planned and operated in a flexible, adaptable way to cope with individual’s changing needs and will include a sleepover service as needed. The service delivered would focus on maintenance of good health, maximising the potential of service users, and ensuring service users are enabled to have quality lifestyles whilst meeting their needs and aspirations. Individuals would be encouraged to participate in a range of community activities, including meaningful day-time activities which will be an integrated part of the service. The service will be provided within the individual’s own home and elsewhere in the community. This would equal between 150-300 hours support a week including a sleepover each night. There would also be approximately 50 hours a week homebased supported living packages provided by this service to those within the Crieff area who have been identified and assessed by Social Work Services, which would include providing the local physical overnight response for Perth and Kinross Overnight Responder Service which is based centrally in Perth.
The approximate value of this contract would be GBP200,000 - GBP400,000 depending on the assessed needs of the service users.
