description
As part of the Restricted Eligibility Support Service (RESS) partnership the provider under this contract is expected to provide specialist homelessness and holistic support to non-UK nationals facing or at risk of homelessness, in close collaboration with immigration advice partners.
They are expected to:
| • | Making referrals to immigration and/or other legal advice providers; |
| • | Identifying people who may have been trafficked and making appropriate referrals to the National Referral Mechanism; |
| • | For people who have the right to work, particularly those with pre-settled status, making referrals employment, skills and/or education services; |
| • | For people facing multiple disadvantage, ensuring that they are signposted to mental and physical health support, including drug and alcohol services, in the public and voluntary sectors; |
| • | Support to overcome practical barriers like, arranging transport to appointments and support to attend; |
| • | Organising replacement passports/travel cards; |
| • | Gathering evidence of a person's residency in the UK through contacting past employers, HMRC, DWP, GPs etc.; |
| • | With their informed consent and the support of immigration advice partners, making Subject Access Requests to get information about criminal convictions and/or the status of outstanding applications; |
| • | Building and maintaining client trust and engagement through regular 'check-ins' and updates; |
