To support HMG’s broad strategic goals for the life sciences, the Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) is conducting this market engagement to better understand the capacity and technical capabilities of the UK biobanking market – covering both the storage and processing of biological samples (“bio-samples”). The purpose of this engagement is to gather information on the UK biobanking market’s: • current capacity for bio-sample storage and processing, • technical capabilities for storage and processing, • existing investment plans, and • timescales for potential expansion.
