Met Office VCP support to these ongoing projects/developments aims to improve the quality and quantity of observation data available from developing countries (which also fits with the objectives of PWS), as well as ability to analyse data effectively, and to support provision of climate services nationally, regionally and globally. Via WMO research, climate data management is one of the largest gaps across developing country NMHSs, and an area in which significant impact has, and can, be made through UK support.
