description

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS) adopt and implement the NFCC Competency Framework for Fire Safety Regulators, which has been developed for use by Fire Safety Regulators within the UK. This approach satisfies the desire for all regulators to adopt a common and consistent approach to supporting and to reduce regulatory burdens.

The objectives of this project is to secure the services of a suitable qualification for operational sector competent staff to enable them to identify and report any fire safety issues in the course of their duty. They will be able to carry out fire safety checks ensuring fire safety measures are in place and if they identify any issues and then they will be able to report this to the fire safety specialists within TWFRS when appropriate.
