The aims of the NHS Health Checks service are to:
| • | Reduce the risk of CVD in the eligible population |
| • | Reduce health inequalities |
| • | Increase awareness of the risks relating to lifestyle surrounding cardiovascular disease |
| • | Support individuals to manage their risk by appropriate medication, lifestyle advice, signposting/referral, follow-up and intervention |
| • | Increase uptake of behaviour change programmes to improve health outcomes in the local population |
| • | Communicate this risk in a way that the individual understands |
