Contract for the Provision of Gas Detection Equipment Servicing & Calibration

Gas measuring and detection tools are critically important pieces of equipment that assist NGN operations in detecting and measuring gas.

This contract has been awarded to a single supplier for the service and calibration of existing gas detection units, along with the purchase of 100 gas detection units which were required urgently for use across the Network (this equipment has been purchased in full).

The urgent requirement for the purchase of the gas detection units relates to the winter contingency period 2023, winter contingency creates more operational activity with regards to gas escapes.

There was a delay in the process and the actions from the original VEAT dated 24th January 2023, these have now been finalised and the contract will run until 31st December 2024.

This contract also covers the service and calibration of existing equipment and any ad-hoc requirements within the term of the contract.

A Service, Calibration & Repair Tender/PQQ was launched in Achilles on 27th August 2024, with the final submission/closing date of 18th September 2024. This tender will replace the service and calibration element of this contract.
