Local Authorities are under a duty to ensure that customers are able to access services 24 hours a day including out of normal operating hours (Homelessness Code of Guidance 18.2). Until now this service has been delivered on behalf of Derbyshire and Staffordshire Moorlands by South Derbyshire District Council with Call Derbyshire being the first point of contact. Notice has been given to end this arrangement by South Derbyshire with effect from 2 August 2021. The Derbyshire and Staffordshire Moorlands partnership are seeking to commission a new Service Provider to be the first point of contact and provide an emergency homelessness response outside of business opening hours
