Housing Support to Homeless Households in Temporary Accommodation

Liverpool City Council is seeking to commission suitably qualified and experienced organisations to provide a high quality short term accommodation based housing support services for households at risk of Homelessness across 3 buildings:

A Temporary Accommodation Centre accommodating up to 23 Single Males in the L13 area

A Temporary Accommodation Centre accommodating up to 25 Single Females in the L6 area and

A Temporary Accommodation Centre accommodating up to 16 Homeless Families in the L8 area

The successful Contractors will be required to deliver a short term temporary accommodation services to households at risk of homelessness and to assist them to access and sustain suitable independent accommodation; thereby preventing repeat homelessness. In doing so, the Contractors will assist the Authority to fulfil its statutory responsibility to provide accommodation under the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the 2002 Homelessness Act) to households in these services.

The support services will be delivered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year by an onsite support team. The service will work in partnership with a range of agencies to provide enabling support to prepare service users to move to on to greater independence.

The Contracts will be for a period of 4 years.

Liverpool City Council welcomes innovative approaches from bidders, including proposals to offer additional benefit to the Authority from delivering more than 1 service and/or from partnership bids.
