The purpose of this document is to specify Ofqual's requirements to suppliers interested in tendering for the contract to undertake research into Applied General qualifications in early 2017.

The surveying will identify the views and uses of stakeholders in relation to qualifications included by the Department for Education as 'Applied General qualifications' for the purpose of Key Stage Five Performance Tables.

There are three different strands of research that will be covered in this work;

  1. Research with HEIs, teachers and learners using a combination of focus groups and individual interviews
  2. Research with awarding organisations using face to face interviews
  3. Research with employers using telephone interviews.

This project will also include producing a report that will include key themes and recommendations for further work.
