description
Domiciliary care is one of the services amongst others that support individuals in remaining in their own home or returning home after a hospital or community bed stay.
Providers are required to comply with The National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS-funded Nursing Care (July 2009 (revised)), guidance and best practice guidelines.
The Law strengthens the protection people have, if they receive care, treatment or support provided by a home-care agency in their own homes. Providers must be registered with the Care Quality Commission for the provision of domiciliary care services and must continually meet the Care Quality Commission’s Essential Care Standards.
The aim is to provide Domiciliary Care Services for CHC funded individuals in the community, as required by the Isle of Wight NHS CCG Funded Care Team
This service specification sets out the requirements of Domiciliary Care Service provision to CHC funded individuals.
Objectives are:
| a) | To provide CHC funded individuals with access to safe, high quality, accredited Domiciliary Care Services; |
| b) | To deliver affordable and Value for Money (VfM) Domiciliary Care Services; |
| c) | To provide services that comply with accepted best practice, relevant guidelines in the delivery of care and robust governance arrangements; |
| d) | To provide a complete holistic person centred focussed care package; and |
| e) | To improve individual’s choice of provider. |
| f) | To enable individual’s to remain in their own homes and in control of their daily lives. |
