description
The council is looking for a competent contractor to deliver their domestic abuse case work. The aims of the Domestic Abuse Casework Service are as follows:
- Increase the immediate and long-term safety of adults and children at risk due to domestic abuse.
- Enable victims to access the range of protection and support services available to them, appropriate to their needs.
- Advocate on the Service User's behalf with other statutory and voluntary agencies and within multi-agency procedures including the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC).
- Provide domestic abuse support from charge to sentence for victims where cases are being heard at the Specialist Domestic Abuse Court (SDAC). Domestic abuse Criminal Justice System (CJS) support will be provided for Tower Hamlets residents regardless of risk level.
- In partnership with LBTH Housing Options Team, provide ongoing support to victims if they have fled their home due to domestic abuse.
- Close working with Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) at Poplar Job Centre to support domestic abuse victims prioritising victims with financial difficulties and or economic abuse.
