description
This is NOT a call for competition. The intention of this notice is to inform organisations of a Pre-market engagement event. At this stage, potential providers cannot access any documentation until the publication of the tender.
The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust are seeking a partner who can provide a full service for a total bed management and pressure area care solution for the new Royal Hospital. Construction is well under way and the 'New Royal' is due to open September 2017. It is expected the new contract will be awarded initially for a period of 7 years with the option to extend for a further 3 years maximum. The Trust are looking to award to a sole provider.
The new Royal hospital will have: 646 beds, including a 40-bed Intensive Therapy Unit, 18 state-of-the-art theatres, 23 wards and units, including a large clinical research facility.
It is anticipated that the following equipment and services will be included: Provision of hospital electric profiling beds which will all be low beds, respiratory beds, specialist therapy beds, static foam mattresses, pressure relieving mattresses and accessories. Delivery, collection, decontamination, storage, repair, maintenance, PPM, training, education and clinical support.
**PRE-MARKET ENGAGEMENT EVENT**
To assist in the strategic direction of the procurement and overall solution, the project team at RLBGH will be holding a supplier day where they hope to gather market information to inform the Trust with respect to development of the specification of requirements.
The 1-2-1's will allow suppliers to discuss ideas for what can be delivered now and over the coming years in terms of both innovative products to improve patient outcomes and an inventive approach to the delivery of equipment, with an emphasis on improved patient comfort, rest, recovery and pressure care management with a reduced environmental and carbon impact.
It is hoped that the event will enable a useful dialogue between the Trust and any interested organisations on aspects of the service prior to the intended launch of the procurement exercise.
The purpose of the event is:
•To tell you more about the ‘New Royal Hospital’ and the vision
•To inform you about the service requirements
•To inform you of the procurement process and anticipated timeline
•Q&A session to enable suppliers to ask questions relating to the products and service
•Opportunity for suppliers to have 1-2-1s with the project team. Time allowed for these individual sessions will be dependent on the number of suppliers in attendance.
