description
The University have recently purchased land adjacent to its Queensgate Campus and wish to begin development of the site from November 2015. The University wishes to demolish several former heavy engineering buildings and clear the site (approximately 12,500m2 in size) in preparation for future new build developments. The new site houses an existing Grade II Listed Bathhouse which the University are currently developing under a separate contract. This building must be protected from demolition and damage throughout the demolition contract process.
The University is seeking to appoint a Structural Engineer to undertake a demolition assessment, manage the production of a demolition plan to include in the tender documentation, and to provide a directly employed Resident Engineer on site for the duration of the demolition works. The Structural Engineer will also act as Principal Designer (for the purposes of the CDM Regulations) on this scheme.
