description

Using a mixed methods design the research will address a large evidence gap around disability claimants, particularly PIP claimants, regarding their employment aspirations, barriers to employment, and support required to participate in the labour market. This project is exploratory and does not support one specific policy or theory of change, rather it aims to provide a foundational understanding that is vital for many policy changes and programmes.

A large-scale survey will be used to gain a broad understanding of their employment aspirations and needs. This will then be followed up with in-depth interviews and focus groups to explore themes in greater detail and what employment support will work best for these individuals.

A final research report and interim findings will be produced as outputs for this project.
