Appropriate Adult Services for Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, and the Isle of Wight

Hampshire County Council, together with Southampton City Council, Portsmouth City Council, the Isle of Wight Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton are inviting applications from suitably experienced organisations who wish to tender for Appropriate Adult Services for Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, and the Isle of Wight.

The service will provide persons acting as an appropriate adult for children and young people (in the absence of the parent, guardian or, if the juvenile is in the care of a local authority or voluntary organisation, a person representing that authority or organisation, or a social worker) and vulnerable adults (in the absence of a relative, guardian, other person responsible for their care or other appropriate friend or suitable adult) in custody at a police station or other place.

The service will also provide AA for unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children who are requiring an age assessment to be undertaken by children's services in situations where the age of the child is in dispute.

The service will be required in Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, and the Isle of Wight.

The initial term of the contract will be for three years, 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2024, with the option to extend for a duration of up to two further years until 30 June 2026.

The Council will follow a procedure under the Light Touch regime, resembling an open procedure. The procurement exercise will result in five contracts, contracts with each Local Authority and one contract with the Police and Crime Commissioner.

Interested parties should register their interest in the project via the In-Tend website https://in-tendhost.co.uk/hampshire, and complete and submit the tender return document together with any supporting documents requested by 14.00 hrs on Monday 26 April 2021.

Select the 2nd tab (ITT - documents) where you will find useful information under 'Tender Details' continue to scroll down to the heading 'Tender Documents Received' where you will be able to view / download the documents.
