description

One of the main aims of the Research & Radionavigation Directorate (R&RNAV) is to review the possibilities of allowing the mariner to continue navigation in the event of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) failure. As such, it is envisaged that visual or near-visual signalling will continue to be an important part of the resilient positioning and navigation solution at sea.

R&RNAV has two projects that require the engagement of services of an external, authoritative, maritime navigation expert for additional support in providing a summary of the state-of-the-art in the visual signalling and machine vision technologies.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
