description

Natural England is taking a proactive leadership role in landscape conservation, enhancement and creation across England ensuring landscape is an integral part of Nature recovery for people and planet. The government's 25-year Environment Plan and subsequent Landscapes Review identified the case for new designated landscapes and for new forms of landscape recognition and improvement. As the body responsible for designating national landscapes, Natural England welcomes the development of new forms of landscape recognition that add value to and complement existing National Parks and AONBs. To help plan for future landscape conservation, enhancement and creation we are committed to developing a robust, evidence-based approach for identifying places that would gain most benefit from a positive landscape intervention.
