description

Two All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV's) - The MCA owns five All-Terrain Vehicles which enable its counter pollution responders to transport personnel and equipment to areas which would be impossible to access in standard road vehicles. These vehicles are capable of carrying and towing heavy equipment over a wide range of terrain and can operate in shallow water.

The rental market in the UK for All-Terrain Vehicles is not developed to the extent that it can be relied upon to fulfil our requirements at short notice during pollution incidents. This therefore necessitates the MCA's ownership of a small number of these vehicles.

Two of the MCA's existing All-Terrain Vehicles are no longer part of the counter pollution stockpile, two replacements are therefore required with trailers to replace and further enhance the CPS/HMCG National stockpile.
