As
| part of a consortia approach, overseen by the Leicester-Shire and | |
| Rutland Culture Board; the Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise | |
| Partnership (LLEP) alongside Sport England, Leicestershire County | |
| Council, Leicester City Council, the District and Borough Councils | |
| and Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport (the County Sport Partnership | |
| ) have agreed to develop a growth plan outlining the economic impact | |
| , opportunities and priorities for the sport and physical activity | |
| sector to fully engage with the LLEPs Strategic Economic Plan. The | |
| purpose of this piece of work is to develop a detailed growth action | |
| plan for sport and physical activity. The plan must be clear and | |
| detailed action plan so that we understand what sport manufacturing, | |
| retail, events and sub sectors within sport make, in terms of | |
| economic impact, and can fully evidence the correlation to the local | |
| economy. We anticipate that this work will add clarity on the | |
| relative economic impact ( the baseline) and the business case ( | |
| opportunities and challenges) for growth in the sport and physical | |
| activity sector in Leicester and Leicestershire. |
