Brief description:

Sandwell is a large multi-cultural Metropolitan Borough situated in the heart of the Black Country within the West Midlands conurbation, located 10 minutes outside of Birmingham.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced advocate to join our busy but friendly Child Care team, to undertake all aspects of the advocacy in care and adoption work. The successful applicant will have a detailed knowledge of child care and adoption law together with extensive advocacy experience of contested and complex matters in the Family Court at all levels. You may be expected to carry a small caseload of care matters. Knowledge of Judicial Reviews particularly in the area of No Recourse to Public Funds/unaccompanied asylum seeker children including age assessment would be desirable. You must be a qualified solicitor/barrister/equivalent with four years child care PQE, of which the last 3 years must have involved advocacy.
