description

The Trust is looking for Expressions of Interest for tendering for Building services works on our Kingsway Hospital site.

The Trust's Kingsway Site comprises of five individual mental health units together with corporate and Estates buildings. The Kedleston Low Secure Unit provides a gender specific low secure service for males who demonstrate disturbed behaviour in the context of a serious mental disorder and who require the provision of security. The plant replacement will be carried out within an externally accessed plant room of the Kedleston Unit, but contractors should be aware that the Kingsway Site grounds are continually available for our patients to use.

The works comprise the replacement of cold water storage tanks (3No.), water booster pumps (2No.) and chlorine dioxide dosing system including modifications to the existing heating installation in the plant room, modifications to domestic hot and cold water services, modifications to natural gas pipework and remedial works to comply with current water regulations.

The existing cold water storage tanks and booster pumps shall be replaced with a packaged 'pump and tank system' installed in the ground floor plantroom.

A new chlorine dioxide dosing system shall be installed within the ground floor plantroom, to dose the new packaged 'pump and tank system'

The works shall include the repositioning of the existing boilers including flues and low loss header arrangement, to create a space to accommodate the new chlorine dioxide dosing system mounted on the adjacent wall.

The works shall also include modifications to existing pipework within the roof void to facilitate removal of 3No. existing GRP cold water storage tanks.

The existing BMS system shall be extended to monitor the new packaged 'pump and tank system' and chlorine dioxide dosing system.

The works shall include all associated power and control wiring.

Design of the works will be carried out by Preston Lee Chambers, Building Services Consulting Engineers who will oversee the installation.
