description

The Trust requires a provision of Serviced Apartments, local to The Christie main site in Withington, Manchester and the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital ("RMCH") on the University Campus, Manchester, to accommodate its patients and their families and carers while they are preparing for and receiving cancer treatment.

The Serviced Apartments will be used by patients and their families as part of a service managed by The Christie. The Christie will be the corporate client and will direct the bookings of apartments within the provision according to the patient's treatment timescale.

Each patient stay is expected to last between a single night at minimum and up to approximately 60 nights at maximum. Patients may be under the clinical care of one or more Trust departments during their stay, including but not limited to:

Proton Therapy
Young Oncology Unit Ambulatory Care Services
CAR T-Cell Therapy
Specialist Surgery
Clinical Trials

IMPORTANT NOTE: The sought provision is non-clinical in nature. Bidders are asked to provide serviced apartments only, and are not required or expected to provide medical care of any kind. The provider will not take any clinical responsibilities for patients staying at their premises.

Additional information: This service falls under the 'Light Touch Regime' as set out in Regulations 74-76 (inclusive) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Pursuant to regulation 76(7), the authority will conduct a competitive procedure, but this is not taken as acceptance by the authority that any part of the PCR 2015 apply, other than those parts which apply to the light touch regime.

In order to be open, fair and transparent an award process incorporating some of the principles of the Open and Restricted procedures will be followed.
