The University of Exeter is advertising a Call for Competition in seeking a suitable and capable provider ofinvestigational medicinal product for use by its Medical School as part of a diabetes clinical trial. The Universityof Exeter Medical School is undertaking a MRC-funded study aiming to develop a stratified approach in Type2 diabetes that will result in more effective use of glucose lowering therapy. The Trimaster trial, sponsored bythe Royal Devon ανδ Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E FT) is a randomised double-blind Cross-Over trial ofthree standard diabetes therapies, a DPP4 inhibitor, SGLT2 inhibitor and thiazolidinedione as third line therapyin 600 patients with type 2 diabetes. It aims to directly test potential stratification by comparing a patient's response (in terms of glycaemia, weight change, hypoglycaemia and patient reported outcomes) to these 3glucose-lowering treatments.
