The project utilises the EU Growth Programme (2014-2020) and has progressed through the Workspace 'Call'process for ERDF investment to Full Application stage. The Council seeks to appoint a suitably accredited and demonstrably experienced Principal Contractorto undertake the design and construction of the Newquay Aerohub Plot 2 Business Park under an NEC 3Engineering & Construction Contract (Option A) to BREEAM Excellent standard. The design works are complete to a RIBA 4 and the successful contractor is required to undertake necessary due diligence for architectural, civil engineering, MEP engineering, landscapingto allowconstruction of the works. The construction works shall comprise site works including site access roads, earthworks, enabling works, statutory services connections to existing, access roads, car parks, landscaping and drainage. The construction shall include the construction of a high quality two storey office facility and 9 light industrial units across 2 blocks. ERDF Funding approval has been granted for Newquay Aerohub Plot 2 Business Park project and will be part of creating 851m2 of office space and 1,856m2 (GI area) of light industrial space for SMEs on a high profile, constraint free site, acting as a catalyst for the future development of the Aerohub Enterprise Zone through the delivery of circa 7,500 sqm (plot area) of BREEAM Excellent workspace withinin the Newquay Aerohub Enterprise zone. The Newquay Aerohub Plot 2 Business Park project will have the capacity to accommodate specific office workspace alongside light industrial units and service yards. The units will be able to accommodate 14 small or medium sized enterprises and the units have been designed to facilitate future growth through combining units for ultimate flexibility. It will set a benchmark for design quality and attract private sector investment in employment space to the area. The project is required to achieve BREEAM 'Excellent' as a minimum and deliver cross cutting themes, these are both key requirements of the ERDF funding which has been granted. The project will additionally be required to achieve BIM Level 2, in line with all public procurement from 2016. It is intended Construction works will start December 2017 and be completed for occupation in late 2018. This project is intended to be funded via the following element of the ERDF Programme - Priority Axis 3 - Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Programme Please note this procurement exercise is intended to follow the OJEU Open Procedure.
