description
Birmingham City Council is committed to providing a high quality intensive family support service for disabled children and their families.
Our aim is to provide Intensive Family Support as a city wide specialist service for disabled children and their families referred by Disabled Children's Social Care, where a range of emotional, social and behavioral difficulties, compounded by the stress of caring for one or more disabled children is impacting on family functioning. This will best be achieved by providing direct work in their homes and community.
The provider will support disabled children and families to:
- Understand, manage and reduce unwanted behaviour
- Improve their emotional wellbeing
- Access information, advice and guidance about services and activity in the local community
- Protect children from significant harm
- Maintain positive family life
The provider must be able to provide a local, responsive service based in Birmingham.
There is an existing service in place so TUPE requirements may apply.
Contract
The duration of the contract is 2 years. The contract will start on 1st October 2017 and end on 30th September 2019. Funding for the service is £200,00 per annum maximum.
