description

This is a particularly challenging time for the voluntary and community sector in Oxford, like other parts of the country. Charity leaders interviewed for ACEVO/CAF Social Landscape 2017 say their biggest challenges are generating income, meeting demand for services and reduction in public funding. From our own consultation last year long term funding and sustainability were also highlighted as concerns. Oxford City Council is committed to supporting the community and voluntary sector to work with us to address some of the biggest challenges and inequalities facing communities in Oxford. The City Council runs one of the largest grants and commissioning programmes, relative to population size, in the country and invests in the development of the sector.
