GB-Telford: Start Up Telford

The proposed Start Up Telford Scheme, funded via UK SPF, will continue and build on the work of successful ERDF funded provision in Telford and Wrekin; the Marches Step-Up Programme (MSUP). This new provision will be delivered across Telford & Wrekin only and will be fully funded for borough residents.

Taking lessons from the original schemes, the support offered will solely focus on those at pre-start up stages and will be an end-to-end service from initial triage of enquires through to an element of aftercare.

The objectives of the new start-up scheme are:

• i.Undertake market engagement.
• ii.Initial advisory support to help assess whether a business proposal is a viable career option and identify initial support requirements.
• iii.Provision of a high-quality tailored package of business start-up support for aspiring entrepreneurs to start a business (including social enterprises) equipping individuals with the necessary confidence, awareness, knowledge, and skills to plan for and then launch a business.
• v.Aftercare and referral to other business support programmes, if applicable.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
