WCC - Market Testing Accommodation based Housing Related Support services for people aged 25 and above

The Council wants to engage with a variety of organisations to determine the capacity of the local market to provide solutions and to explore innovative ways of delivering the services required.

The information gathered will be used to help shape the service to be tendered.

The Council are looking to commission a replacement countywide Housing Related Support (HRS) accommodation based service for people aged 25 and above, including ex-offenders, to commence on 1st August 2019. A tender for the above service is expected to commence in the autumn.

HRS services in Warwickshire support vulnerable people aged 16 and above to enable them to attain the skills required to be able to live independently, thus preventing problems that can cause homelessness, hospitalisation or institutional care.

Support provided under HRS places an emphasis on empowering customers to be able to live independently in their own homes in the community. This can include support for customers to enable them to be able to:

• access secure accommodation
• stay safe within the home and local community
• manage finances
• acquire general housekeeping skills
• maintain independence, good health and wellbeing
• participate in training and / or education
• obtain paid work

HRS services are provided for up to 2 years and typically for one year or less. Customers are supported to acquire independent living skills thus enabling them to live independently after the support ceases.
