UK SBS on behalf of the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) completed a procurement exercise for the provision of annual refits (covering maintenance, repair, enhancement, and refit) of the Royal Research Ships (RRS) James Cook and Discovery.
The objective was to deliver a long term agreement (3+1+1) that provides options for ship refits across all operating areas e.g. Atlantic, Eastern Pacific, and Indian Oceans.
RRS James Cook and RRS Discovery are purpose built research ships managed by the National Marine Facilities (NMF) at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), Southampton on behalf of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).
