Bath & North East Someset Community Services - your care your way

This notice is placed as a Prior Information Notice, and relates only to the market engagement process.

NHS Bath and North East Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Bath and North East Somerset Council work together to plan, pay for and monitor health, care and support services for everyone in Bath and North East Somerset.

The commissioners have embarked on a bold and ambitious review (known as your care, your way (www.yourcareyourway.org)) of the community health and care services that are delivered in a person’s home or in a nearby local care setting, and to help develop plans for these services from April 2017 will now hold a series of market engagement and information events.

There are 400 different community health and care services currently operating in Bath and North East Somerset, provided by over 60 different organisations and with a current annual spend of approximately £69million.

Providers will need to work collaboratively with each other, valuing each other’s contribution. The market engagement process will help to shape future contracting models, but options for providers could include forming joint ventures; becoming partners in alliance contracts; delivering care and support within devolved budgets or becoming partners within a formalised model of integrated service delivery. These new approaches will be essential for ensuring that our community health and care services are truly coordinated and person-centred with increasingly complex care needs being met by a range of professionals (and others) in, and near to, people’s homes.

The CCG and Council are in the preliminary stages of exploring commissioning options and defining the service model/s which will deliver the best possible outcomes for service users. This notice and the forthcoming events are intended to allow providers to help commissioners shape the future of health and care services in Bath and North East Somerset and do not constitute a formal call for competition.
