Prospects for UK-India Trade in Services: Assessment of Opportunities and Challenges

The UK and India enjoy a strong bilateral trade and investment relationship. Bilateral trade between UK and India currently stands at around £20 billion. Investment is equally strong; the two countries are among the top 5 investors in each other's economies. There is scope to further enhance this relationship. The two governments have committed to building 'the closest possible economic and commercial relationship'. In November 2016, the UK has established a substantive trade policy dialogue with India. Both countries set up a Joint Working Group (JWG) on trade under the UK-India Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO), created in 2005 to develop the India-UK strategic economic & trade partnership. The aim of the JWG is to work together to resolve existing barriers to trade and deepen two-way trade between the two countries. In this regard, both sides are already working on mutually agreed set of goods sectors and have agreed to expand the remit of the JWG to cover trade in in services.

How to apply in this Project:

1. Register your company on the eSourcing portal (this is only required once) - Browse to the eSourcing Portal: https://fco.bravosolution.co.uk and click the link to register. - Accept the terms and conditions and click "continue" - Enter your correct business and user details - Note the username you chose and click "Save" when complete - you will shortly receive an e-mail with your unique password (please keep this secure).
2. Login to the portal with the username/password - Click on the relevant Invitation to Tender (ITT) to access the content - You can now access any attachments by clicking the "Settings and Buyer Attachments" in the "Actions" box;

Responding to the ITT - You can choose to "Reply" or "Reject" (please give a reason if rejecting) - You can now use the 'Messages' function to communicate with the buyer and seek clarification - Note the deadline for completion, - There may be a mixture of online & offline actions for you to perform (there is detailed online help available), You must then publish your reply using the publish button in the "Actions" box on the left-hand side of the page. Potential Providers should answer all questions as accurately and concisely as possible in the same order as the questions are presented. Where a question is not relevant to the Potential Provider's organisation, this should be indicated, with an explanation. Where attachments are requested to be submitted within the electronic PQQ/ITT, these shall be submitted in a PDF format (Adobe or similar).

PQQ/ITT or Bids not submitted via the FCO's eProcurement portal will not be considered.
