STFC has two cohorts (one in 2017 and another 2019) of 16 to 20 mid-career managers identified as having leadership potential who have been selected for a fast track development programme. They span the disciplines of science, engineering and professional services.
The goals of this programme are to deliver a Development Centre that uses STFC's strategy as a context for 16 to 20 high potential candidates on the Accelerated Development Programme. In particular to:
| • | To support the execution of STFC's 2020 strategy |
| • | To develop leadership skills required for the future sustainability of STFC |
| • | To strengthen collaboration, performance and resilience for change |
| • | To build the self-awareness necessary to engage and lead others |
| • | To apply new skills to solve real work problems |
Detailed Requirements:
To design, develop and deliver a five day leadership programme with an organisational development bias that uses a whole system perspective and builds mind-set and skills in four key areas:
| • | Strategic leadership |
| • | Collaboration and partnering |
| • | Team effectiveness and performance |
| • | Personal awareness and impact |
The focus of the programme is to develop the necessary skills and knowledge required to be a strategic leader within the realm of science, engineering and research.
