Staff Occupational Health services – Pre-employment Screening, Management/HR referrals, Health Surveillance, Health at work and Research Passports etc. to ensure that employees are fit to carry out the requirements of their job, being cognisant of appropriate guidelines and legislation.
Student Occupational Health Services – Screening and vaccinations etc. to ensure that students are fit to perform the requirements of study and practise, including clinical, relating to their specific course of study.
The above services are to include Workplace Assessments (e.g. exposure to physical, chemical and biological agents), Ergonomic Assessment, & Emergency medical appointments.
The service will require access to: An Occupational health Physician, who is a serving member of Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, and able to meet the Health and Safety executive Criteria for appointed doctors, (when statutory medicals are indicated) and Nursing staff who must hold a registerable professional qualification in Occupational health Nursing.
The expected level of spend under this initial 3-year agreement by the UoN is estimated to be in the region of £1.5m.
The objectives of this procurement are:
- The delivery of an excellent level of service and quality to end-users, including the generation of high level management information on the University’s staff and student communities.
| • | Deliver an efficient and effective student screening and vaccination process. |
| • | Ensure sustainability through management of Corporate Social responsibility in areas such as Carbon Emission reductions and |
other environmental, social and economic factors.
| • | The delivery of a service that meets HEOPS and other relevant standards. |
| • | The achievement of on-going value for money throughout the duration of the agreement. |
| • | Provision of a business focused, practical advice service for the management of employee and student health matters in a |
range of contexts

The University of Nottingham (UoN) wishes to enter into a contract for 3 years with options to extend for a further 12 month period commencing on the 1st April 2017 for the provision of Occupational Health Services for Staff and Students to include but not limited to:

The University anticipates initiating a procurement using the Restricted Procedure with the release of a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire in July 2016 followed by an Invitation to Tender with successful pre-qualified suppliers, with the Contract commencing 1st April 2017.
The PIN is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process.
