Pre Approval Foster Training

Leeds City Council are looking to develop a Fostering Pre Approval course in order to deliver a training programme to approximately 60 potential carers for the next calendar year Leeds City Council are looking to deliver somewhere between 6- 8 sessions during the course of the calendar year. Starting January 2020 and ending on December 2020.

The essential requirements for this programme are as follows:

• To develop a course that prepares individuals and families to train to be foster carers.

• To devise an online element to the training where people can learn to train from home or an alternative location of their choice.

• To produce a comprehensive 'face to face' training course which is in line with the most recent UK fostering policies and theories.

• Following the delivery of the 'face to face' training session a mechanism of certification should be awarded, and feedback collated.

• To provide an ongoing access to administration support for both staff and candidates

• To allow delegates access to a fostering advice lines including fostering advice, legal assistance, ideally over a period of 24 hour a day, 365 days a year.

• To enable delegates access to a 12 month access to training material in a downloadable form
