Acivico DCFM Ltd (on behalf of Birmingham City Council) requires a Supplier for the provision of specialist conservation architectural services for a project related to the carrying out of essential replacement electrical wiring to the Grade 2* listed Council House building located in Victoria Square Birmingham building.
The works comprise of the essential electrical rewiring of the Council House complex, primarily for health and safety reasons. The scheme will be phased in four quadrants. Please refer to the Project Brief Appendix 1 for more detail on the proposed works. The Supplier will assist the Lead Designer, Hoare Lea LLP from a heritage point of view in respect of builders work in connection with the electrical re-wire of the Grade II* listed Council House building including advising on service routes, locations for electrical equipment that will have the least impact upon the sensitive heritage areas of the building. Many of the heritage design principles were established during the development of the design for the much larger scheme and this will need to be reviewed and amended to suit the updated scheme.
Acivico DCFM Ltd seeks a conservation architect to develop appropriate designs and specifications in support of the Lead Designer's electrical design work and secure all the necessary approvals in particular obtaining Listed Building Consent, and assist in the tender process in regard to the appointment of a main Contractor through a two stage tender process. Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Principal Designer and Clerk of Works Services are to be provided by Acivico DCFM Ltd.
The contract will be for a period of commencing August 2020 until October 2023.
