Approved Provider List for the provision of Fostering & Kinship Carer Assessments in Worcestrshire

Worcestershire County Council is looking to establish a list of Approved Providers to assist the Council's Fostering and Kinship Service complete assessments on non - related foster carers and kinship assessments on connected people. The Council has seen a significant rise in the number of referrals for assessments of connected people. The Council undertakes kinship assessments with a number of outcomes:

• oapproval as foster carers
• oSpecial Guardianship Orders and
• oChild Arrangement Orders

The Council is looking for agencies that could assist the service by undertaking assessments at times when there is a high demand and there is no capacity within the kinship teams. Based on last year's referral rate, and the number of referrals to date this year it, is envisaged that the council will be requiring approximately 70 kinship assessments and 10-15 fostering assessments a year to be undertaken externally . However there is no guarantee these numbers will be the numbers being completed by external Providers.

Contracts are expected to be in place by 1st March 2018, it is anticipated that a 2 year contract be adopted with an option to extend for a further 2 years subject to performance. The Approved List may be opened annually at the Council's discretion.
