NOTE: This notice was updated on 17 August 2017 for the following reason: Tender exercise is being re-run to accommodate error in previous documentsThis tender is seeking a netter with skipper operating a vessel with ample deck space for sampling. The vessel must have enough room for collection from individual nets to be kept separately and a scientist to work.

The trial will focus on three net designs to see if there is any difference in THR bycatch using the different net designs without compromising the catches of Sole. The other focus will be to gather data on the abundance and distribution of skates and rays in the area. We are seeking to tender one vessel from this fishery to take part in this study The vessel is required to have a minimum of 10 regular trammel nets (4 ¼\" inner and 18\" outer) and to have them rigged in fleets with the modified nets supplied. The nets will be rigged into 6 fleets with each fleet containing 5 nets randomly set (30 nets total per day).
